If you haven't read book 1 yet, "April Showers", stop right here and DO NOT read on. Contains spoilers of book #1 in the series, which you would have to read anyway in order for this book to make sense to you.

We pick up right where we left off. Lukas is in the hospital, and April and Isaac are together. However, April and Isaac's relationship will be put to the test in more ways than one during this book. There are still a lot of loose ends to work out, mainly, the fact that their relationship still must remain a secret until he is fully resigned from the school. But you know that won't stop these two from staying away from each other..

"He should have come with some sort of Government health warning. Highly addictive. Take in small doses. Causes high blood pressure."

April Fools is the perfect follow up to April Showers. A lot of things that were left open ended were resolved. Certain characters made their grand appearance as usual (cough) effin Abbie (cough). And we also get a deeper look into other side characters from April Showers, like Lucy. April and Lucy are now living together until April can figure out her apartment situation. Lucy, adds a lot of humor to April Fools, and it gets even more interesting when new characters are introduced, mainly April's brother Brody. I love Brody. Heartbreaker, man-whore, hilarious, and in my head, sexy as hell. I LOVE the kid. I will rally to Karli Perrin to get on writing a Brody book, because seriously, he's hilarious.

April Fool's is a short, easy read, that adds even more depth to the April series. I definitely enjoyed it, and loved reading on with April and Isaac's relationship. These two are absolutely made for each other, and it shows through their chemistry.

Oh.. and the epilogue? Absolutely. Adorable.

Can't wait for more April Series reads!

Surrender To Me is a fast paced, love at first sight, story of Becca and Lucas. Becca, is looking for  a way out. She needs to get away from her toxic home. Between her mother, and her mothers boyfriends, she just needs some normalcy. Thankfully, her best friend is able to give her that sense of normal that she needs. She has plans; college, get the hell outta dodge. But when she meets Lucas, her plans are about to drastically change. 

"I'm a sucker for those love stories where the girl meets her prince charming that sweeps her away from her normal life. I always dream I'm one of those girls, but then I wake up and I'm still me. Dreams are such a tease."

Lucas isn't your typical rocker. He is more like... the boy next door. He isn't interested in the rocker lifestyle, and would much rather live in the regular world, but continue with his music. When he first meets Rebecca, he falls hard, and fast. 

 "I look back at Luke and feel like he can either by my savior or my destruction."

These two have a very instant connection, and their relationship comes easy to them. But there are a ton of roadblocks in their path that they don't anticipate, and their "easy-love", turns out to not be as simple as they thought. There are ups, downs, and "oh nooooo.." moments.

"Some people are together for years and will never have the connection that I feel when I'm with you...

...trust me when I tell you it isn't like this for everyone."

This was a quick and fun read. The story itself is fast paced as well. This will be a series, so a heads up that this one does leave off in somewhat of a cliffhanger. The last chapter will definitely throw you for a loop.  But it's the type of cliffhanger that leaves you begging to know what happens next.

*REVIEW* "Taming The Bachelor" by M J Carnal

Ex marine and bad boy, Mark Moretti, made a pact with his childhood friends to live life to the fullest and never allow a woman to tie him down. A move back to his beloved Los Angeles threatens to change the future he had written for himself when the shy and beautiful, Sophie Barringer, ends up being the Maid of Honor at his sister's wedding.

Let me start off by saying this book had me hooked on these characters. I read "Taming The Bachelor", "Taming the Playboy", and "Taming The Boy Next Door", back to back to back. I'm totally 100% invested in these characters now, and I promise, you will be too. READ. THIS. SERIES.

"Taming the Bachelor" is Mark Moretti's story. Mark is a known player, and loves his title. That is until he lays eyes on Sophie, and his whole life perspective comes crashing down. This girl brings this bad boy to his knees, and he can't do a thing about it. Sophie has her own past demons, and she is just as hesitant as he is about starting something up. So the two of them have to figure out where this is all going together. 

"I'm kind of an asshole. I don't think there is someone out there for everyone. Molly [Mark's sister] says it's just because I won't slow down long enough to open up to anyone. I am sticking with I'm an asshole."

However, there is always a twist, a turn, a problem. And these two face one hell of a problem, and prove that communication is key. Now, it's a matter of if they are willing to work through it or just call it a fling and move on.

" He grabbed her hand and put it on his chest.
'Do you feel this? You do this to me. No one else ever has.' "

There are a LOT of characters to meet in this book. It definitely sets the stage for this series. It was quite a bit to follow at first, but about half way through I started connecting the who-is-who in this group, who is related, and who is married. Once I hit that point, I was a goner. I loved some characters, hated others (then fell in love with them in a later book..), and all around enjoy their dynamic with one another.

Each book in this series can seemingly be read as a stand alone, but I HIGHLY suggest reading them in order. If you don't read Taming The Bachelor first, then you will be lost in some parts of Taming the Playboy (ps.. that one is hands down my favorite of the series).

*REVIEW* "Used" by Kate Lynne

The name's V. I'm beautiful in every sense of the word physically. But on the inside, I'm a black pit. 

If you're expecting a happily ever after, a white picket fence and 2.5 kids; then this isn't the story for you.

There aren't any happily ever afters in the works for me or those whose lives I poison.

I hold the key to my pleasure and I'll be damned if I ever give it up again.

God forsake those that stand in my way of ultimate gratification.

"Used" left me with my mouth hanging open, half way between "WHAT did I just read?! omg.. whoa" and "GIVE. ME. MORE. NOW!".

This may be a novella, but it has a BOOM-in-your-face storyline. V is crazy. I mean straight up, she's crazy. And I couldn't get enough of her. But then, add the twist, and.. just.. just yeah, whoa. I honestly had no idea how I felt about this book when I finished it. I just sat there, with my jaw hanging down. So I took my time, let it sink in, and came to the conclusion that since it was a week later, and I was still thinking about it, that this book did its job. And it did it well. It stuck with me, and it stuck hard. 

"Be around me for more than five minutes and I'll have you eating out of the palm of my hands just like the next."

Oh, and lets not forget about the HOLLLLY GOD awesome sex scenes. Because really, the whole book was just one huge amazing sex scene. With a story. With a super mega twist. And with a cliffhanger that I didn't even realize until a few days later. One very big unanswered question..

I will absolutely be reading novella #2 in this series, "Confused". 

*REVIEW* "Tears Of Tess" by Pepper Winters

"Tears of Tess" was definitely unlike any book I've read in a LONG long time. Honestly, the synopsis doesn't do it justice, it is SO much more in-depth than what I thought I was getting into. Tess, is one BAD ASS girl, and she now rivals almost everyone for my favorite book-chick. Even while being kidnapped, she doesn't go without a fight. During her stay with her kidnappers, again, she fought. And once she was sold, she continued her fight. It. Was. Awesome.

"I'm not a sweet, innocent girl who wants cotton candy and sonnets. I'm a fighter, a slut, a woman who needed to be taught her own body."

Although Tess and Brax have been together for two years, she has always held back. Brax was safe, and she would do anything to keep it that way, and keep her world in a bubble, even if that meant compromising what she deeply truly feels inside. However, that does not mean that Brax isn't amazing. Brax is a wonderful guy, but Tess.. needs more.

"I let Brax shove me back into the box where I belonged. The box labeled: perfect, innocent girlfriend who'd do anything for him, as long as it was in the dark and on my back.I wanted a new label. One that said: girlfriend who will do anything to be tied, spanked, and fucked all over rather than adored."

Tess is a complicated girl (still, totally bad ass), so when she is finally "sold" off, and meets her new Master, Q, her entirely world gets totally turned upside down. She hovers the thin line between wanting to run as fast and as far as possible, or wanting to give in to the abrasive man that she now belongs to. 

"Two things I wanted most in the world: for Q to die a miserable death, and for him to fuck me."

This book.. was a mind fuck. It was. Part of me was just as confused as she was, another part totally understood, and another part wanted to high five her. Then when yet another crazy twist happens, I had the "wait.. what just happened" face, and starting rooting in another direction. It was crazy. 

Put it this way, I finished this book 2 days ago, I'm just writing my review now. It took me a couple of days to have this fully sink in. And the ending of the book? I was THRILLED with it.

I'd definitely recommend this one guys, and I'm seriously looking forward to "Quintessentially Q".

MY THOUGHTS

"Sia" is a fast paced coming of age story. When Sia wakes up with no memory of who she is, she is forced to make due on the streets being homeless. She meets the most amazing woman, Carol, who takes her under her wing, and shows her to ropes on how to survive on the streets. Quite honestly, Carol is my favorite part of the book. Her outlook on life, her story, her wisdom, is absolutely beautiful.

However, when Sia is eventually thrown back into her own life, she starts to realize how her former self actually was. She is not acting even close to the type of person she was before she lost her memory, and is actually disgusted with her former self.

"Have I been cruel and self-centered my whole life? Have I wasted all my years behaving like a spoiled brat?"

She wants so badly to be the person she woke up feeling like, and will do anything in her power to hang on to it. If that means ditching her old friends, and making new ones, then so be it. She comes off as a very strong senior in highschool, with her head very much on her shoulders. She slowly starts to do what she can to be the person she wants to be, and along for the ride is a guy named Kyle. Kyle had been on the receiving end of Sia's torment before she lost her memory, but gives Sia the second chance she needed to start to rebuild.

"Soon people will realize I've changed for the better. Or at least the people who matter will notice."

I did enjoy this book, but I feel like Sia took a lot of this in stride. She woke up, with zero memory, and remained absolutely calm about it. I would have been losing my mind, and I'm 29 years old. This girl, a 17 year old, still in highschool, acts like a complete adult, and immediately goes into survival mode. I commend her for that. Not only does she remain level headed, she actually welcomes and embraces with open arms her second chance.

A quick read, with a great message of "mean girl gone nice", and how second chances do sometimes come from the most terrible of situations.
