My Thoughts:

"Never trust a man that will look at another woman while is he in your presence."

That is one bit of advice that Noelle lives by. Along with another bit of advice, or rather an order from her father: "Never EVER date a wrestler".

"You deserve more. JJ is a good kid, but he is destined to be in the ring. You will not be involved with a wrestler. Ever."

Noelle and Jackson have known each other for years. Noelle had always had a thing for Jackson when they were kids, and Jackson was a clueless teenage boy. After losing touch and being apart for years, Jackson is now a wrestler, and Noelle hadn't given him a thought for a long time. So when Noelle and Jackson are back in contact, old feelings arise. Noelle and Jackson either have to fight against their feelings, or face Noelle's Father.

"Noelle smiled in spite of herself and tried to make herself believe that he wasn't as irresistible as he believed he was. She could resist him. She would if it killed her."

The story line of this book is awesome. It definitely flows well from one thing to the next, with evil exes and twist and turns along the way. I have to say the thing I liked most about this book, was Jackson. He is not your typical book bad boy. He has a huge heart, and knows what he wants, and actually wants to settle down. While Noelle was fighting her feelings, Jackson was trying to figure out a way for everything to work. I truly enjoyed everything about his character. 

"He had something about him that made her want to throw her arms around his neck, and wrap her legs around him, and not let go. She was in deep trouble."

The best part of the book was definitely how Noelle and Jackson got back in touch. It had me giggling while going "uh oh.. oh no.. yup.. this is happening.. hahaha ohhhh boy." I loved it! 

Definitely looking forward to more by Kelly Arlia!

"Noelle, I love you."  Jackson admitted.

She could no longer hide the tears, “I’m sorry. I’m still so unsure.”

“I can’t deny what I am feeling. This is the real thing. Here, I’ll prove it.” He took her hand placing it over his heart. His chest was rock hard but more importantly she could feel his heart pounding. “This is new to me. I have never felt so out of control and happy at the same time. Remember when I did my first promo and you asked if I was scared? I made you feel my heart? It wasn’t pounding like it is now. I’m not pretending. I’m forever changed because of you. I cannot sit back and hear about anymore Mr. Evil’s in your life. I want to be the guy in your life, and I’ve never been more afraid or sure of anything in my life. YOU. ARE. IT. FOR. ME. I don’t know how else to get you to believe me.” She still had her hand on his heart and closed her eyes when Jackson put his hand over hers. At that moment she knew this was bigger than the both of them. She looked up at him and saw the tears in his eyes too. She trusted him and knew that he was taking a huge risk. The way his heart pounded told her as much as well. “I love you.” He said it again.

SO.. I'm pretty sure every last one of us left off at a "GASP!! OH NO HE DIDN'T (snap snapity snap snap)" at the end of Stardust.

WELL.. in typical Peaches fashion, Peaches Monroe makes the best of her situations.*
*Side note: Peaches, is quite possibly, my favorite person in ANY book I have ever read. No really, she's amazing, and if she was real.. I wouldn't stop until she was my best friend.

Peaches is in L.A. for her underwear photoshoot, where she meets THE most charming and hilarious photo assistant, Mitchell, who quickly becomes her new-gay-bff. And also quickly becomes her voice-of-reason in the new crazy life-for-a-week she is about to get herself into.

"There's nothing like having a stranger notice how broken you are to really make you lose your shit."

Expecting to do her photoshoot alone, she is not prepared for Keith Raven, the model she will be working with for her nearly nude shoots. 

" 'He likes you.'
'Sure he does,' I said sarcastically. 'All the hottest guys just can't get enough of my peaches. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.' "

But, as it turns out, Keith really actually does like Peaches. But with things with Dalton left open, she is a little bit lost on where to let this thing with Keith goes until she actually ends things with Dalton. But resisting the sexy new co-model may prove harder than she realized.

"In the silence that followed, I had a little argument with myself. He's lying, and he wants to brag about having you as a conquest, howled the suspicious detective part of me. He's lying, and he's a filthy sex addict, said the part of me who wears librarian glasses and her hair in a bun. Then my randy tongue jumped into the argument and started yelling incoherently: MOUTH! Anyway, it turns out that Keith has recently ended a relationship as well. So here's where the arrangement comes in. Peaches and Keith agree to have Peaches stay with him, to avoid the awkwardness of staying at Dalton's, and at the same time to be each others "rebounds" for the time she is in L.A. Win win for both of them. Right?

But when Dalton comes back, it turns into a really awkward situation, really quickly, for everyone involved.

Now, with her life crazier than it's ever been, issues at home, and one huge "omg.. really?" moment, Peaches has a few tough choices to make.

I couldn't love Peaches Monroe any more than I already do even if I tried. As always, in the life of Peaches, there are HILARIOUS scenes, crazy escapades, and nothing but speaking your mind.. even if you're speaking your mind as a foreign cleaning lady. This is a crazy good time read, as was Stardust, and I HIGHLY recommend this entire series so far!!

MIMI FACTS

Q. Where did you get the idea for this series?

A. Part of the inspiration is from that great romantic comedy movie, Notting Hill. Also, about a year ago, I wrote a book about a smart mouth waitress, and people loved the character so much. It was a YA book, and I had this weird psychic feeling (ha ha) that people might like a sassy character like that in an adult book, along with lots of sex and romance and great banter. I knew that I'd love to read a book like that, so I figured it would be fun to write, and it is!

Q. How many Peaches Monroe books will there be?

A. After Book 1 came out, I asked my readers how much Peaches they wanted. Everyone said they loved Peaches, wanted the experience to never end, and wanted many, many books. I don't usually write long series, so I decided to make it 4 books, total. That's a quadrilogy. Each one is a full-length novel with its own storyline, and the books are inter-linked. 

Q. When is book 3 coming out? And book 4?

A. I haven't set a date yet. I write fast, so it won't be too long, but I need to take my time and take care of Peaches while simultaneously torturing the poor girl. Writing a series with a character that readers love so much makes me feel like Peaches Monroe is a real person, and I'm just licensed to write her story. If I don't do a great job, I worry I'll get fired. So, I'm going to try to get you more books as quickly as I can without getting fired. (Don't worry about my mental health; I hear this is completely “normal” for authors of series.)

Q. Who would play the characters in a movie?

A. I think I should play them all, with puppets. The sex scenes could be a real challenge, but I'm willing to try.

Q. Have you won any major awards with your writing?

A. I have made bestseller lists, but my only actual “award” came from a friend who made me a certificate saying I am now a “good” writer because I've passed the million-word mark. I printed that out for my office wall. I'LL TAKE WHAT I CAN GET! LOL.

Excerpt

The corner of his mouth turns up and my eyes fixate on how pink and wet his lips are from drinking the water. There’s a drop of water resting in the center of his pouty bottom lip and I have an immense urge to lick it. His hand cups my shoulder holding me in place, ready to pull me closer as I lick my lips in anticipation.

“Cut that smoochy shit out. It’s time to go up.” Rob throws the napkin between our faces, bringing me back to reality.

I blink and Brady’s soft brown eyes peer back at me. Our moment is over and disappointment fills me. What was I thinking? I told myself that this was not going to happen, but oh how I wonder how he tastes.

“Enjoy the show,” Brady says, looking from Jessa to me. “Please stay this time,” he whispers in my ear before he scoots out of the booth, jumping on the stage.

“Holy crap, Sadie. What was that?” Jessa asks, right after he leaves.

“What? Nothing.” I shake my head, still trying to figure it out myself.

“It was like you two were in your own world. Like the rest of us weren’t here,” she says, finishing her drink before flagging the waitress down.

I ignore her comment. I don’t know what to think about that. Brady has this pull over me, making it incredibly hard to keep my promise to myself. Just stick to the plan, I tell myself. Show, dinner and no more Brady after tonight.

Roni brings Jessa her drink and then the lights go down for The Invisibles to start playing. Aces has filled up in the time we have been sitting down. There is a line outside the window, waiting to pay their cover charge to see the show. I relax in the booth and the vinyl sticks to my arms. Thankfully, Jessa has moved over from me now that Rob is up on stage.

“Are you ready out there?” Brady’s voice fills the bar and Trey starts hitting the drums. Everyone cheers and rushes up toward the stage.

Surprisingly, my body starts moving to the beat. Every song he put on my iPod is embedded into my mind. It’s adorable the way he glances from the corner of his eye to make sure we’re still here. When the edges of his lips turn up at me, I melt into the sticky vinyl. The crowd around the stage jumps up and down while their heads bob back and forth to the beat of the music. Brady’s eyes divert back to them, showing them he’s there for their enjoyment and wants them to have a good time. He looks down to an eager girl right up front and smiles. She raises her hand and he reaches down in return, grasping a few of her fingers. A sudden pang of jealousy consumes me.

I can only see her black, short hair from the back. She has a smaller, more petite frame than me. Then the crowd engulfs her in around them and I can’t locate her anymore. But there was something in her body movements that makes me believe that she and Brady either have or had something in the past.

An hour later The Invisibles finish their set. Brady’s soaked grey t-shirt clings to his body, revealing all the creases around his muscles. He holds up his finger to me, telling me to give him a minute. I couldn’t keep count how many times he looked over during the show to see if I had deserted him like last time. The smile that absorbs his face when he knew I was still there was enough to make me want to jump on stage into his arms. He brings feelings out of me I didn’t think I possessed, or could exist inside of me.

Brady leaves the stage and the dark-haired girl follows him down the hallway and I wonder what is going on, but quickly remind myself it is none of my business. I will be out of his life after tonight anyway.

“Who’s the girl?” Jessa asks next to me.

“I don’t know,” I respond, stirring the small straw in my drink. I watch the nearly dissolved ice cubes spin around.

“Oh my god. You try to act all cool like he doesn’t make you all wet but look at you now.” She hits her shoulder to mine.

“What are you talking about?” I ask her, still staring at the nearly nonexistent ice cubes twirling around in my cup. I feel like them, nonexistent to the world. I no longer matter to anyone, or have any one important person in my life.

“Are you ready?” Brady waits on the outside of the booth with his hand out. He has changed his shirt to a long-sleeved blue Henley. “Or do you want to stay for the next band?” I glance up at him and all those thoughts that just filled my brain vanish when his perfectly straight white teeth gleam down at me. For some reason he makes me feel alive again.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR 

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head.
