ABOUT ALL GOOD THINGS
Goodreads Link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18585830-all-good-things

All Good Things…
are wild and free.
This is going to be the best summer ever! Bonfires, pool parties, trips to the beach, throwing her arms in the air while riding down the open road in a convertible – she’s going to do it all.
Roxie has plans. It’s the last summer before college graduation. By this time next year she’ll be living in the “real” world; ie: paying bills, searching for a job that doesn’t require an apron, and maybe even sleeping on a bed that doesn’t turn into a couch. If there’s ever a time to be fun, irresponsible and reckless, it’s now.
But things don’t always go as planned.
Before the summer has even started, Roxie makes a discovery that breaks her heart and shatters her confidence. Her hopes of having the Best Summer Ever go straight in the trash. Forget the beach. Forget the bonfires. Forget summer altogether.
If only her childhood friend, Jake, would let her be. His contagious smile keeps popping up and dragging her to every social event in Ann Arbor. Reluctant at first, his happy-go-lucky attitude becomes an addiction. It isn’t long before Roxie starts to wonder if her longtime friend might be the perfect cure for her heartbreak. This summer might be good after all.
But All Good Things…
must come to an end.
**All Good Things is an NA prequel to the contemporary 2013 release The Good Life. The books can be read in either order, or as stand-alones.**

All. Good. Things.
For the record.. I have been waiting for this book since the SECOND I finished "The Good Life". Jodie Beau was actually one of the first authors I met when I entered blog-land. The Good Life was also one of the first books that I completely freaked out over on my blog. I've been dying for more Jake and Roxie, and I got it in this book. I'm not sure I can totally explain what All Good Things did to me, but it was amazing. It brought me back to endless summers, carefree nights, and first loves. And we finally get to see how it all happened between Jake and Roxie. Think you couldn't fall in love with Jake any more? Wrong. So wrong.
"My dad is an ass. My mom is a jerk. But I changed my mind about Roxie. I'm glad she's not my real sister. Because I just noticed for the first time how blue her eyes are. She's actually kind of amazing."
Throughout The Good Life, I always had it in the back of my head that it was Roxie chasing, and Jake running. I didn't expect that both of them would be running to and from each other at any given time. Their story, is SO adorably young love, that I'm pretty sure that anyone out there can relate.
"I'm just waiting for the right one. When all the newness wears off and she stops shaving and starts wearing boring underwear that doesn't even match, and I still want to be around her, I'll stop. It just hasn't happened yet."
It was fun, playful, endearing, sad, beautiful, frustrating, sweet, and adorable. It was absolutely all things Jake and Roxie.
"Jake and I had a high level of comfort between us, too, but it was a different kind. We had a more subtle type of intimacy. We could say anything to each other, no matter how embarrassing or persona. We could fight with confidence because we knew we would always make up. We could tease without hurting. We could be at our best or at our worst and knew the other wasn't going anywhere."
This book made me miss college summers, HARD. It was driving until you felt better. Living in the moment. Making your own moments. Falling for someone without a safety net. Finding yourself. And it makes you feel, seriously FEEL, so good inside. It also makes you laugh your ass off in typical Jake and Roxie style. But we all know how this chapter of their life ended. We all know where The Good Life picked up. And even though I saw it coming, it still hit so hard. I actually cried. I KNEW it was coming, and I still cried. I'm not sure if I cried more for Jake and Roxie, or if I cried because of all the memories that this book brought back for me. But either way, Jodie, yet again, has managed to send me on an emotional rollercoaster that I never wanted to get off.

If you haven't read The Good Life yet, go read it. Read it now. Read it YESTERDAY. Want to talk about nailing your "debut novel", Jodie Beau did it with bells on with The Good Life. If you haven't picked up All Good Things yet, DO IT. Trust me. You're missing out if you don't read this series.

Favorite Quote:
"A lot of times we don't realize something special is happening until the moment is long gone. This time I now it. I hope I can find a way to keep this image with me until the end of time."

I was a bad drunk. Everyone had that one friend that needed a babysitter when drinking. That was me. I was that friend. Embarrassing, but true.
I didn’t drink often, but when I did, I didn’t know when to stop. It wasn’t because I was a total lush – but I got so uncomfortable around crowds and used the alcohol to loosen up. Sometimes (okay, fine, most times) I got a little too loosened up. On bad nights I ended up fondled by strangers, passed out on a bathroom floor, or carried out of a bar by bouncers. On better nights you’d find me telling a whole group of complete strangers my theory that oral sex was the answer to World Peace. And on no morning-after had I ever woken up and thought to myself, Wow, what a respectable young woman I was last night. Nope. Never.
I’d embarrassed myself on too many occasions to count, and I was hoping not to add another at my own ‘Welcome Home’ party.
“Can you do me a favor?” I asked Jake after my second martini. It was approaching nine, not even dark yet and I was already buzzing.
“What’s up?” he asked from behind the bar.
“Can you please start making my drinks a little weaker? Or a lot weaker? It’s still early, and I’d like to have some of my dignity left in the morning.”
“That’s not going to be very fun for the rest of us,” he said with a straight face. “These people didn’t come here tonight to welcome back their prim and proper weak-drink-drinking friend. They came for the show they’ve learned to expect.”
It wasn’t very nice, but it was funny. I was buzzed enough to laugh at my own expense. “I don’t want to pull out all my tricks on the first night,” I replied. “I need to save some for the next party.”
“No shit, you’ve got tricks now? I should have charged a cover.”
I laughed and shook my head at him. “Can you please just have my back tonight?”
He slid another martini over to me. I took a sip of the noticeably weaker drink and smiled. “Thank you.”
“No problem. I’ve got my money on you keeping your bikini top on until at least midnight. If we work on it together, we can split the pot.”
I sipped my martini and hoped he was kidding.

I'm a wife, mom, waitress, book nerd, Chapstick addict, and a really bad driver who still believes in happy endings and can't walk in high heels. Writing is what I do when I'm avoiding other things...like cleaning.

I once had big dreams of being a Hollywood screenwriter. But then I met a boy and got distracted. Three years later we met another boy, this one even cuter. The three of us are now living happily ever after in the Detroit area. All Good Things is my second novel. And our house is kind of a mess :)

*BLOG TOUR* "Diary of A Dieter" by Marie Coulson

Curvy girl, Charlene Winters, had it all: the great career, wonderful friends and a dreamy fiancé. With her wedding day just three weeks away, Charlene is dealt a devastating blow. Suddenly finding her life, hopes and plans in tatters, the jilted bride sinks into despair and a tub of Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough. With the heartache of her fiancé’s infidelity still fresh, Charlene’s whisked away by her friends on a life-changing holiday. But how will this big fish cope now that she’s back in the dating pond and surrounded by slender trouts with Botox lips? Frustrated by best friend Adam thwarting her attempts at romance, and her girls Vanessa and Dana eager to set her up with a boy toy, Charlene decides the time for change is upon her. What she needs is a change of scenery, a change of dress size and maybe, a change of heart.

Born and bred in Essex, England, Marie Coulson discovered her love of writing in her early teens. Beginning with poetry and song lyrics, she tried her hand at creative writing while studying for her English GCSE. It was love at first line. Unfortunately, Marie's career as a childcare and education practitioner soon took up most of her time and writing became something she only dreamed about. In the summer of 2012 she quit her job and enrolled at university, ready to start a new career as a therapist. This left her with a lot of time on her hands and on August the 20th she sat down and wrote the first chapter of Bound Together. Bound Together was a story that had been waiting three years to be written and when fingers hit the keyboard...Layla, Jared and Ollie's story was born. Marie has since written and released two novels in the Bound Together series and a novella. Her romantic comedy novel Diary Of A Dieter has also received excellent reviews and is the debut novel in  the Confessions series.

*BLOG TOUR* "Tug Of War" and the Bloodlines Series by K. Larsen

___________________________________________

TUG OF WAR (Bloodlines #1)

Impulsive, YES. Irresponsible, SURE. Necessary, PROBABLY. Going to end badly, most likely. Does any of that matter to me, no. I decided that I can't please everyone so this week my only goal is to please me. I’m a selfish cow but I can’t seem to help it. I’m Clara Lord. I own Bloodline’s Tattoo Parlor, have a filthy mouth, no filter and a really strong objection to bossy idiots, pet names and wealthy men.

You will hate me, love me or love to hate me but either way it doesn’t matter. Everything I touch turns to crap and it’s all my fault. See, I lived through hell. Then I escaped hell and carefully spent the next eight years crafting a perfect little life until Domini Napoli screwed it all up. Now nothings right. Everything’s wrong and all my secrets are coming out.

Tug Of War has been voted:
Top 3 of 2013 list from Book Junkie Girls
Top 10 of 2013 from For The Love Of Books
Top 13 of 2013 List from I'll Be Reading

RL Griffin listed Objective as the book she most looks forward to in 2014 releasing.

"Tug of War" is an amazing out-of-the-norm story. If you're looking for an innocent girl, and an easy love story, this isn't it. This is real. It's not easy, it's heartbreaking sometimes, and everything falls into place at others. But it keeps you guessing until the very last second.

Lets look at the characters:

Clara, a doesn't take shit from no one, bad ass, opinionated chick, who has an interesting life, and a devastating secret, who I completely adore because in many ways she mirrors myself.

"I’m Clara Lord. I own Bloodline’s Tattoo Parlor, have a filthy mouth, no filter and a really strong objection to bossy idiots, pet names and wealthy men."
(and you my dear are officially my new book-soul-mate)

Then there's Sawyer, my new love, my new book boyfriend, my new favorite guy.. period. Sawyer has so much charisma, cares so deeply about Clara, and has woven himself into a very crucial part of her life.

"He kisses my head and I breathe a sigh of relief as the safety of Sawyer's arms washes over me. He knows all but one of my secrets. Hell, he's really the only person out there that even knows me anymore."

And then.. there's Dominic, the new guy, the rich guy, the guy who won't give up. I should note, that keeping in line with this out-of-the-norm story, that Dominic is an out-of-the-norm rich guy, in the sense that he is way more down to earth than he first comes off.. you'll see.

"The man doesn't give up easily and he sure knows how to keep my interested sparked, I'll give him that."

Now, add in Clara's two best friends, and you get the massive amount of humor involved in "Tug of War".

" 'Cougars? Seriously, since when does thirty-two put you in cougar territory?' I chortle.
'When the boys hitting on you are a decade or more younger than you. Thats when,' she replies."

There's also another very special character, that MAKES this book what it is, but you'll have to read to find out more about her ;)

"Tug of War" kept me on my toes. It had twists I didn't see coming, and the ending is nothing like I have ever read before. Is it a love triangle? Yes, it is at times. Does it end badly?.. Well, don't they all? But does one MAJOR event bring the entirety of this story to its knees. Yes, 1000 times yes.

You will keep guessing until the last page, and even then it's a half bitter sweet/half beautifuly happily-ever-after. I loved EVERY second of this book. I loved how it wasn't like the typical books I read, but it had every element that I want in a story. I adored the characters (AND I'm doing a super-mega-happy dance that Sawyer is getting his own book!!) Not only is the storyline amazing, but the writing is fantastic! I would highly HIGHLY recommend this book, and I can't wait to read more by K. Larsen.

Favorite Quote:

" 'When you touch me.. it dominates me. I feel an insatiable need to feel you. It's a reckless and demanding feeling. Like I can't control myself. Like I want you to decour me.' My voice is soft but steady. 'I've never felt so out of control.' "

 OBJECTIVE (Bloodlines #2)
(Releasing April 2014)

My story started out cliche, good girl falls for bad boy, but one wrong move changed all that. Turns out the good girl doesn’t save the bad boy. My story goes from cliche to risque to mind blowing. My story is different from all the others because the events of my story led me to one thing...my objective.

Remembering him comes in dreams and flashbacks that I can't control. I tell myself it’s time to let go...but moving on from him is impossible when I still see our lives in my head.

When you kill your soul mate you don’t ever really recover.

A year of trying to forget or rather move past it has taught me that you can't. Its an impossibility to move on from that kind of horrific form of betrayal. If you you’re too selfish or scared for suicide, like me, you learn to wake up every morning and follow routine. One foot in front of the other, day after day.

Hollow. Lifeless. Haunted. Loving him was like the sun on a summer day. Living without him is like slowly burning to death. Torture.

A Bloodlines Novel.

*Note Tug of War is the 1st in the Bloodlines books, each book can be read as a stand alone book.*

 RESISTANCE (Bloodlines #3)
(Sawyer's Story, Releasing Late 2014)

My name is Sawyer Crown, I own Bloodlines Tattoo Parlor, despise drama, and have a penchant for broken women. It's a habit I intend to kick.

The arrangement had been simple. Clara and I sleep together if and when we wanted too. We were always best friends first. We raised Allie together with love. Four years into it did people assume we were married- yes. Did people assume I was Allie's father- sure. Did I love every second of that- most definitely.

Then my world exploded. Clara left me. Moved on. I'm supposed to too. I just haven’t figured the moving on part out quite yet. The heart wants what it wants right? Or maybe the mind want what it wants for the heart. All of those scenarios are bullshit though. Clara went for the gold. She carved out the happiness she needed, wanted.

Now it’s my turn.

Prologue

I feel like I’m crawling in my skin. I’ve had this feeling for the last sixteen months just about. Time has done little thus far to mend me. People keep promising time heals all wounds. Bullshit. I call bullshit. Love is a four-letter-word.

Love is blindness. I didn’t want to see. I don’t want to see. I chose to ignore all the signs. I was in denial. I pretended that Clara and I were more than we were. I knew it was wrong. I buried that feeling deep though. Flat out refused to let it bubble to the surface where I’d have to deal with it.  I’d tear out my insides if I could go back and change it.

I didn’t give her room to breathe. I never gave her the chance to come to me, to want me. I gave her what I wanted to give and convinced myself that it was exactly what we both wanted and needed.

Our arrangement had been simple. We slept together if and when we wanted too. We were always best friends first and we were to raise Allie together with love. Four years into it did people assume we were married- yes. Did people assume I was Allies father- sure. Did I love every second of that- most definitely.

The problem is, real women don’t need you, they want you. Clara always needed me. I knew that. I liked it, hell I loved it. I thought it would be enough to keep her attached to me. It wasn’t. She put my heart in a blender and watched it spin around until it was a pureed mess. I’d love to blame her entirely, but when shit hit the fan and she told me she never asked for my love outside of our arrangement, she was right. She never did.

She was upfront, honest, clear with me from the start. I tried to change that subtly over time. To embed myself into her life so wholly that eventually she would want to submit to me entirely. My game got sloppy, I grew complacent. I used my dating life to try and piss her off and make her jealous. Sometimes depending on the woman, it worked. Mostly she held up her end of our deal and knew that we’d agreed to be able to date, therefore never bringing it up.

My weakness was that I let myself care too much. It was all a well played game between the two of us. A balancing act with no safety net. Games that never amounted to more than they were meant to, eventually played themselves out.
Stupid.

Clara is many things, but she’s not an asshole, contrary to what most think. She’s a straight shooter. Calls it like she sees it, a take action kinda gal. She loves fiercely and wholly. Even when she’s not in love with you. If she loves you, you get all of her for better or worse.
All things I love about her.

Clara makes mistakes and people view her actions as self-centered, but they don’t understand how she works. She’s not a selfish woman. She’s bold. Takes no prisoners. Driven. She gives back in so many ways.

People look at her and judge, they don’t see or maybe they choose to overlook all the things she does from the heart. Her friends, family and their and her personal well-being come first. Her two jobs follow next. She’s committed, blunt to a fault and owns her faults. It’s refreshing really. Her past was so much worse than even I knew, and I knew most of it, but when the parts I didn’t know came out- so much came to light, for me at least.   But by then, it was too late for us. There was a gap so wide between us there was no bridging it.

She loves Allie fiercely. She’s wonderful mom. I admire that about her. Sure she’s made mistakes- we both have, but she’s never claimed she hasn't.  When the school told her the chorus program was being cut, she volunteered to continue teaching the kids for free. Bloodlines thrives as a business because she puts her heart and soul into it. Even from a distance she's loyal to Marg and Amanda, staying in touch, talking often, putting in the effort to make sure they all stay connected. She’s thoughtful and kind and funny.

Dominic swooped in and threw us all off balance. I can’t say that had the situation been reversed I would have handled it any differently than she did. It was confusing. Where did we draw the line? How do you give up someone that's been an intimate part of your life without giving them up completely? How do you tell what’s right and wrong? How do we maintain our family still for Allie? When you never talk about the hard stuff together, how can you expect the other to just know what’s in your head? Bottom line, you can’t. It was a cluster fuck to say the least. We’ve found some semblance of peace. We’re just rearranged now. I’m supposed to accept that and move on. Supposed being the key word.

I just haven’t figured the moving on part out quite yet. The heart wants what it wants right? Or maybe the mind want what it wants for the heart. All of those scenarios are bullshit though. Clara went for the gold. She carved out the happiness she needed, wanted.

Now it’s my turn.

TARGET 84 (Bloodlines #4)
(Bentley's Story, Releasing Early 2015)

My first kill was at sixteen. One might think that’s young but I'd been trained for two years before I was allowed to execute a human target on my own. I won’t ever forget him. Jackson Manning was testifying in a human trafficking case and someone didn’t want him to be heard. I'd been sloppy and careless, but excited and if I'm honest, a little turned on too. I’d found myself rather curious staring at his unmoving body. I’d been scolded for my carelessness but it didn’t matter. I’d had a taste of the real thing and I thirsted for more. My desire, my obsession took on a new form that day. It wasn’t a goal I was working towards anymore, it was tangible now.

It is my life.
I am an assassin. I don't know my targets or why they're targeted. I am commissioned to kill without question and I am paid grandly for the service I provide. I get a text with a name and an address. I watch them. I wait. I become who I need to be. I seduce them if necessary to get close enough to execute.

I love my job, or loved my job. Everything changed when I was assigned: ATF Agent Bentley James, last known location Christiansburg, VA.

 Seriously.

I hate dirty dishes.
I like sarcasm and funny people.

I should probably be running right now... because of the goat cheese....and stuff.
I've been told I'm the mistress of Snark. I like that.
