Blog Tour Hosted by: The SUBClub Books

Synopsis
A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

(BOOM.. 6 STARS)
My Thoughts:

Gahhhh REMY!!!! Total fan girl moment here, because seriously.. REMINGTON FUCKING TATE!!!!
Okay.. I've calmed down.. sort of.. on to the actual review..

The first thing on Brooke Dumas' mind is her career, the last thing.. is a guy. But when Brooke gets dragged to an underground fight with her best friend, her whole "no guy" theory is quickly going out the window, when Remington "Riptide" Tate walks into the ring.

"I dare you to look at him and tell me you wouldn't do anything for that man."

So when Remy introduces himself (in the HOTTEST fucking way possible) to Brooke, she is dumbfounded, and a little turned on.

"His lips curl and he meets my gaze. 'Brooke Dumas.' He just fucked my name right in front of me."

Brooke does all she can to get Remy out of her head, but when he comes up with a business proposal, it actually turns out HE is the career move she needs. But how can you possibly work around Remy, and fight the "no guy" rule at the same time? (god KNOWS I couldn't do it..) But she tries her damnedest to not let it go past the point of professional.. (pfft....)

"I think I like him, and I dislike that I do.
I think I want him, and I hate that I do.
I think he truly is the perfect material for a one-night stand, and I can't believe I'm starting to wonder about it too."

So fight it as she may, there is no woman on the face of this earth that wouldn't give into Remington Tate. But the deeper she gets involved, and the more she finds out, she realizes that he may be a bit more than she signed on for. And she may be getting in even deeper than she planned.

"He wants to be my real, not my adventure. Even when he will be the realest thing in my life, I know it's still going to be an adventure. Because thats him. An exhilarating bungee jump... a free fall..."

I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK.

Being on this blog tour gave me the perfect excuse to read Real again (which is something I rarely do, read books twice, no matter how much I loved them the first time). And if it's possible, I fell even more in love with Real than I did the first time around. There are so many things in this book that stick with you and give you chills for MONTHS after you read them. Such as, Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls, when I hear it my first thought now goes to Remy. GAH.. communication through song lyrics.. its a weakness.. and WOW the playlist for this book was perfectly picked.

"And I don't want the world to see me, it says, but I want you to know who I am..
I think I'm not even breathing, I don't even know if I can."

I don't even want to say that this book is about two broken people, even though it is, sort of. It's more of a book of two people finding a way to move on from major life changing events in their lives. They just happen to meet each other at the perfect time, and in amazing ways, help each other move forward. Of course with moving on, a career move, sex, and REMY.. things get a bit crazy. But it's one of the best crazies I've ever read.

Favorite Quote:

"But for a second, I just want to sit in this stupid chair and believe there is this sort of magic between two people and I can be this prized someone to this sexy, raw, primitive man who's so strong, mysterious, and playful to me, he compels me like nothing in my life ever has."

Author Interview:
Hello Katy! Thank you so much for taking your time to give an interview to I’ll Be Reading!
Hey Marisa, thanks so much for having me over!
When did you first realize you wanted to write?
I started as a voracious reader, devouring all my favorite author's books, until a very displeasing book made me want to write one with an ending that I would like better. So why not write a whole book? :)
What inspired you to write the "Real, Raw & Ripped" series?
I have to say it all started with Remy. I really wanted to write his story, and when he introduced me to Brooke, and the rest of the cast, the more I got to know them, the more I know there were stories to tell among them.
Can you relate to your characters?
Yes! Definitely. I think every human being in this world can relate to another in some way.
Do you have any quirks that help you write? Music, snacks? What kind?
Definitely music. Music, dark chocolate, and a good tea always help!
Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Let yourself write anything, anything at all, without judging your style, or your prose, or your plot. I really think the best ideas come where there are no limits or boundaries, and sometimes, if you sit down and write what intrigues you, or excites you to write, most probably those who read those same words will feel exactly the same as you did when you wrote it.
