April Showers by Karli Perrin Review - New Author!

From GoodReads:

"What happens when your head and your heart pull you in completely opposite directions?

April Adams is about to find out the hard way.

When April enrols at Manchester University, it feels like a whole new life. New city, new house, new friends...new crush.

Isaac Sharpe is the hottest guy on campus - with an even hotter reputation. After a chance meeting, April quickly finds herself wrapped up in all that he is. But what if all that he is isn't what it seems?

Caught up in a battle between what she wants and what she thinks she needs, April meets Lukas Roberts. Lukas is the security blanket that she craves so desperately and she finds solace in their friendship. But what happens when she finds more than she bargained for?

April has always been a big believer of fate, but will she learn that she's in control of her own destiny before it's too late?

Join April as she embarks on a life changing journey of love and loss, which will have you laughing and crying until the very end."

My Thoughts:

April Adams is a level-headed yet confused, sarcastic, witty, clumsy, and hilarious college student. Running late for her first class she, literally, runs right into Issac Sharpe, the "most handsome man she had ever seen her her whole life". After a really amusing amount of witty banter about their run-in, she takes off for class, without getting his name.

"Same time tomorrow?" I shouted as I carried on walking. "It's a date" he shouted back.. ..I wondered who the beautiful stranger was and more importantly, if he was being serious about the date."

Once she finally makes it to class, she meets the second handsome guy of the day, Lukas Roberts. The two of them quickly form an easy going friendship.

When Lukas asks April to meet him at a party, she finds herself face to face with "Mystery Man" aka, Issac.

April Showers is twist and turn after turn of wrenches thrown into her plans. Crazy twists, that were never seen coming, make her question everything she thought she wanted. She starts wondering if the easy way out, isn't the best way to live her life. What if she wants more? With her best friend Katie always a phone call away, she is constantly being pushed towards the "more".

"You deserve a man who makes you feel butterflies. Love isn't safe. Love is crazy and scary and unpredictable. You can't control it and you sure as hell can't fight it."

The whole book left me trying to figure out who I was rooting for. Lukas, the oh-so-sweet safe bet, or Issac, the untouchable and risky option. Let me tell you, BOTH guys are completely swoon-worthy, but I think I was actually rooting for the under-dog. I absolutely loved April, her sarcasm is perfect and keeps you laughing throughout the book. I think I may love Katie even more, even though she's not technically a main character. Combine the two girls, and the conversations are hysterical. With every twist and turn, April Showers constantly keeps you on your toes wondering what's going to happen next. I loved it. It was a great read! I definitely cannot wait for the next book!

Did I mention its a super-mega cliff hanger? because it is.. it soo is.

Thank you Karli Perrin for the fun and awesome read! I cannot wait for the next one!
Congrats on your Debut!
